Lead a team of 8 operating a high volume, specialist manufacturing plant
Monday to Thursday night – four 10-hour shifts
Specialist manufacturer of flooring underlay require an experienced Nightshift Manager to take charge of their nightshift team.
Working Monday to Thursday nights, you will be managing a team of 8 operating a high volume, specialist manufacturing plant, ensuring the quality and output of product of the nightshift meet exacting company standards. Taking a hands-on approach you will monitor the production process at each stage, making sure that the team maintains the required output and quality control whilst ensuring health and safety requirements are strictly adhered to.
You will deal with any breakdown issues that occur during the shift, minimising machine down time, as well as documenting any major or maintenance issues that need to be dealt with on day shift.
Any production issues will be your responsibility and you will expected to manage the nightshift team, identify any problems or issues and attempt to find resolutions.
Reporting to the Production Manager you will be the most senior member of staff on site at night and will ensure production and quality meets the required standards, as well taking a more strategic perspective in terms of product or process improvement and up skilling and empowering your team.
To be considered for this role you will:
Currently be working as a Production Manager, Foreman or Supervisor
- Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience, working in a manufacturing environment
- Be able and willing to working nightshift – Monday to Thursday nights – four 10 hour shifts
- Have proven supervisory or management experience
- Have some mechanical or maintenance expertise – able to identify machine breakdowns or faults and determine how to resolve them
- Possess a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
- Be strategically minded – constantly seeking ways to improve your team, processes and performance
